It Is Not Going Away

The other day I was out in the yard trimming vines out of our azalea bushes, and all the while there was a gnat trying to get into my eye. It was hot, I was sweating, and this little gnat was driving me nuts. Finally, I had to stop, wipe my brow and spend a minute or two until I finally swatted the little bugger.

President Barack Obama is going to have to do the same thing I did. He is going to have to stop what he is doing and take care of the idea that millions of Americans have that he was not born in the United States, and therefore has no right to be our President.

Just last week, a Major in the Florida National Guard refused to go to Iraq, on the grounds the President didn't have the right to order him there, or the right to be Commander-in-Chief, because Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen. Right away I thought this guy was going to a military jail, but surprise, surprise, the United States Army changed his orders, and the whole thing was dropped. I have since heard that a retired General and another retired officer have joined with that Major in a suit.

The last couple of weeks I have been driving back and forth from Tallahassee to Madison, Florida moving into our new home. Twice in that time I have seen signs on a motor home and a semi saying, "Where's the Birth Certificate."

Other places in the country have billboards asking the same thing. Check out this web site: www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=98724

When I moved to Florida I wanted to vote and change my drivers license. The voting thing was easy. All I needed was a picture ID and a utility bill with my Florida address on it. The drivers license was a lot harder. They want to see a birth certificate, and if you don't show certified copy, you don't get a license. A photocopy will not work.

I have read that President Obama has spent over one million dollars trying to keep from showing his Birth Certificate. He has something that is called a Certificate of Live Birth. The people who question this say that is not the same as a Birth Certificate.

Now the people who have their doubts about President Obama's right to hold office are seeking a whole bunch of records that Obama has made secret.

There is an organization called "United States Justice Foundation" that is trying to get those records. Here is what they are saying:

According to published reports, Barack Obama's legal team has been paid over one million dollars, so far, to STOP anyone from seeing ANY of his actual identification documents, or many other documents:

  • Actual long-form birth certificate (NOT an easily-forged electronic copy of a short-form document that is not even officially accepted in Hawaii)
  • Passport files
  • University of Chicago Law School scholarly articles
  • Harvard Law Review articles
  • Harvard Law School records
  • Columbia University records
  • Columbia University senior thesis, "Soviet Nuclear Disarmament"
  • Occidental College records, including financial aid that he may have received
  • Punahou School records, where Mr. Obama attended from the fifth grade until he finished high school
  • Noelani Elementary School records, where Barack Obama attended kindergarten (according to the Hawaii Department of Education, students must submit a birth certificate to register—but parents may bring a passport or student visa if the child is from a foreign country)
  • Complete files and schedules of his years as an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004
  • Obama's client list from during his time in private practice with the Chicago law firm of Davis, Miner, Barnhill and Gallard
  • Illinois State Bar Association records
  • Baptism records
  • Obama/Dunham marriage license
  • Obama/Dunham divorce documents
  • Soetoro/Dunham marriage license
  • Soetero/Dunham Adoption records

By the way, the issue of the Occidental College records is especially pertinent. The United States Justice Foundation (USJF) served officials at Occidental College with a subpoena to produce records concerning Barack Obama's attendance there during the 1980's, because those records could document whether he was attending as a foreign national. You see, Mr. Obama attended the school on a scholarship—and there are questions as to whether the financial aid he received was reserved for foreign students. The Obama attorneys have bent over backward to block us. He doesn't want anyone to see those records. He's STILL trying to hide them; those financial records STILL have not been released.

WHAT is Barack Obama trying to hide? WHAT is he afraid of? WHY doesn't he just release these documents to prove that he is a natural-born citizen and, therefore, qualified to serve as President—especially his actual birth certificate?

Now I have no idea if Barack Obama was born in the US or in some foreign country, but I do know this question is not going away. National Public Radio had a story on it this week as did Chris Matthews on his TV show, Hardball. Both programs were out to help the President , but both made even me question his place of birth, and I never had given it any serious thought before. Both Hardball and NPR had people on defending the President, but nobody from the people asking to see a real Birth Certificate.

There have been numerous court cases, but in each, the Obama legal team got them thrown out. But, you wait and see, one day some judge is going to say, let's hear this and get it over with.

Like that Justice Foundation asks, what is Obama trying to hide? He might as well come clean and release all those papers, because like that gnat that was driving me nuts, the growing number of people who want to see a real Birth Certificate will drive Barack Obama nuts until he does.
