Peace Is Not Even An Option

I listened to some of the Sunday morning news programs, and there was a lot of talk about health care, the economy, and Afghanistan. It looks like any economic recovery will be a jobless one, and even the White House is admitting that the stimulus package they put together is not going to stimulate the job market.

Nobody knows what the final health care bill is going to look like, and nobody knows what it is going to cost. What we do know is that the American people are being kept in the dark about what is going on in Congress, and many of our elected officials don't have a clue either.

The really sad topic is Afghanistan. Every guest was in agreement that peace or bringing the troops home, is not an option. About the only thing they argue about is how many more troops we are going to send, and how much money we are going to pour into the country.

Over eight years of fighting—and the thought of peace has never entered the discussion. It is not even an option.
